Affiliate Program Policy
Effective date: April 28, 2026 · Last updated: April 28, 2026
This Affiliate Program Policy ("Policy") governs participation in the Grimblo Affiliate Program ("Program"). By enrolling in the Program, you ("Affiliate") agree to this Policy, which forms part of and is subject to the Grimblo Terms of Service.
1. Program Overview
The Grimblo Affiliate Program allows eligible users to earn recurring commissions by referring new paying customers to Grimblo. Each Affiliate receives a unique referral link. When a referred user signs up and subscribes to a paid plan through that link, the Affiliate earns a commission on each qualifying payment made by that user — for the lifetime of their subscription.
2. Eligibility
To participate in the Program, you must:
- Have an active Grimblo account in good standing
- Be at least 18 years old, or have the legal capacity to enter contracts in your jurisdiction
- Not be a current employee, contractor, or director of Grimblo
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding affiliate marketing in your jurisdiction
- Not use the Program for self-referrals (referring your own additional accounts)
We reserve the right to reject or revoke Affiliate status at any time at our sole discretion.
3. Commission Rates
Commission rates are determined by the Affiliate's own Grimblo subscription plan at the time the referred user's payment is processed:
| Your Plan | Commission Rate | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5% | Recurring |
| Pro | 15% | Recurring |
| Creator | 25% | Recurring |
Commissions are calculated on the net subscription amount received by Grimblo after Stripe's processing fees and applicable taxes. Commissions are not earned on domain registration fees, domain renewals, or one-time charges.
We reserve the right to adjust commission rates with 30 days' written notice. Rate changes do not affect commissions already accrued prior to the change date.
4. Attribution & Tracking
Referrals are tracked via a unique referral code embedded in your referral link. A referral cookie with a duration of 30 days is set when a visitor clicks your link. The last-click model is used — the most recent referral link click before signup receives the attribution.
A referral is only attributed to you if:
- The referred user clicks your unique referral link before registering
- The referred user creates a new Grimblo account (not an existing account)
- The referred user subsequently subscribes to a paid plan
Grimblo is not responsible for referral tracking failures caused by the referred user disabling cookies, using ad-blocking software, or clearing their browser data before signing up.
5. Commission Hold Period
All commissions are subject to a 30-day hold period from the date the underlying payment is received. This period exists to protect against refunds and chargebacks. Commissions move from "Pending" to "Approved" status after the hold period expires, provided no refund or dispute has occurred.
6. Clawbacks
A commission may be reversed ("clawed back") if:
- The referred user receives a refund on the underlying payment
- The referred user initiates a chargeback that is upheld
- The original payment is found to be fraudulent
- The commission was issued due to a system error
Clawbacks are recorded as negative commission adjustments in your dashboard. If a clawback results in a negative balance, that balance will be deducted from future earnings before any payout is processed.
7. Payouts
Payouts are processed manually by Grimblo administrators and require you to connect a valid Stripe account via Stripe Connect. To be eligible for payout:
- Your Stripe Connect onboarding must be complete
- Your net approved commission balance must be at least $25.00
- Your account must be in good standing
Payouts are not automatic and are currently processed on a manual review basis. We aim to process eligible payouts within 30 days of a request. Payout timelines may vary based on review volume and Stripe processing times.
You are responsible for all taxes on commissions you earn. Grimblo will issue a 1099 form where required by US law. Non-US Affiliates are responsible for compliance with their local tax obligations.
8. Prohibited Promotion Methods
Affiliates must not promote their referral links using the following methods:
- Self-referrals: Creating additional accounts to earn commissions on your own activity
- Spam: Unsolicited email, SMS, or social media messages
- Cookie stuffing: Placing the referral cookie without a genuine click
- Misleading claims: Making false statements about Grimblo's features, pricing, or the affiliate program
- Paid search brand bidding: Bidding on "Grimblo" or similar brand terms in paid advertising without written permission
- Incentivized signups: Offering cash or physical goods to referred users in exchange for signing up, unless pre-approved in writing
- Trademark infringement: Creating websites or social media profiles that impersonate Grimblo
9. Disclosure Requirements
You must clearly and conspicuously disclose your affiliate relationship with Grimblo whenever you share your referral link, in accordance with the FTC Endorsement Guides (US) and equivalent regulations in your jurisdiction. This includes disclosures such as "I earn a commission if you sign up through this link" in any social post, video description, or written content where the link appears.
Failure to disclose may result in immediate termination from the Program and forfeiture of pending commissions.
10. Program Modifications & Termination
Grimblo reserves the right to:
- Modify commission rates, hold periods, or payout thresholds with 30 days' written notice
- Terminate the Program entirely with 60 days' written notice, after which all accrued approved commissions will be paid out
- Remove any Affiliate from the Program immediately for violations of this Policy, fraud, or abuse, with forfeiture of unpaid commissions
11. Limitation of Liability
Grimblo's total liability to any Affiliate under this Program shall not exceed the total commissions earned by that Affiliate in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, indirect, or consequential damages related to the Program.
